Meet the Kajka X-Lätt 45
-2 minute read-
Excerpt All the durability of the iconic Kajka, now lighter and more streamlined. The Kajka X-Lätt 45 is Fjällräven's most refined trekking pack yet, and the only pack to win both the ISPO Award 2025 and the Scandinavian Outdoor Award Overall Winner for Spring/Summer 2026. Built to carry comfortably over distance without compromising on support, strength, or the decades of expertise behind it.

Meet the Kajka X-Lätt
The Kajka has been a fixture on serious trails for decades. Trusted by trekkers who know what long days on uneven terrain actually ask of a pack, it has earned its place through durability, thoughtful design, and a carrying system that holds up long after the enthusiasm of the first kilometer has worn off.
The Kajka X-Lätt 45 carries all of that forward, and then asks what happens when you strip back the weight without touching any of what made it worth carrying in the first place.
The answer is a 45-litre trekking pack weighing 1,190 grams. Built on Fjällräven's signature birch wood frame. Produced without added PFAS. Ready for the trail ahead.

Recognised by the Industry's Most Respected Voices
The Kajka X-Lätt 45 is the ISPO Award Winner 2025, recognised at one of the world's most respected international outdoor trade platforms. It is also the Overall Winner of the Scandinavian Outdoor Award for Spring/Summer 2026 Scandinavianoutdooraward, where the jury called it one of the best packs tested in the last thirty years. The jury particularly recognised the wooden frame, repairability, and timeless design ISPO, noting that this is not about chasing ultralight trends, but about creating meaningful lightness through well-considered design and materials built for the long term.
Two independent juries. The same conclusion.

The Iconic Kajka Frame, Refined
What sets the Kajka apart has always been its frame. Where most lightweight packs trade structure for weight savings, the Kajka X-Lätt keeps Fjällräven's distinctive birch wood frame at its core. The birch wood frame requires up to 60 percent less energy in production than a regular aluminium frame Scandinavianoutdooraward, and delivers the stability under load and comfort across distance that lesser carrying systems cannot sustain.
The back length adjusts between 40 and 55 centimeters to fit a wide range of bodies. The M/L model features longer shoulder straps and a wider, longer hip belt for broader torsos. A detachable chest strap and side compression straps let you adapt the fit as the load shifts throughout the day.
"All the durability of the iconic Kajka, now in a lighter, more streamlined design."

Built From Materials That Earn Their Place
The main compartment is constructed from Vinylon F, one of Fjällräven's most hardwearing fabrics with a long, proven history in demanding outdoor conditions. Vinylon is repairable and wears in gracefully, ensuring the pack remains a reliable companion for many years. ISPO The shoulder straps, base, back panel, and hip belt are made from recycled 330D polyamide. The entire pack is produced without added PFAS.
Every component, from the frame to the trims, can be replaced or repaired if needed. ISPO This is not lightweight gear that wears out quickly. It is lightweight gear designed to last across seasons, not just a single trip.

Modular Storage, Nothing Wasted
The Kajka X-Lätt 45 offers eight pockets across a considered layout. A snow lock closure secures the main compartment. Expandable stretch side pockets handle water bottles and quick-access items. A removable front pocket sleeve adds flexibility depending on what the day requires.
The interior zippered pocket is fully detachable and can be worn separately as a small crossbody bag. Leave the main pack at camp, take what you need, and keep moving. The pack is also hydration system compatible and designed with easy-to-repair details throughout, because gear that lasts is gear that can be fixed.
"Everything you need. Nothing you don't. Backed by over 60 years of trekking expertise."
